Feeling Overwhelmed? Cut Back on Your Workload

It may feel like at work, school, or home so many things are demanding your attention, stretching you more thin than you can handle. It's okay to cut back on your workload sometimes to clear your head, ultimately rendering you more productive. Here's what you can do:

Step back. Stop whatever you're doing and take a few minutes to clear your head and think. Perhaps even take a walk to get some fresh air.

Make a list. Compile all of your to-do's into one list so that you can see at a glance everything that needs to be done.

Set limits. Choose which tasks must be completed today and do those only. Tomorrow, do the same.

Eliminate, then prioritize. Anything that can be delegated to someone else, do so to get them off your list. Also, cross off everything that is not absolutely pertinent to get done. If you're overwhelmed already, save those things for another time. With everything left on your to-do list, prioritize these tasks so that they are completed as efficiently and in the most ideal time frame possible.

Structure your workday. Structure your day around the times that you are most productive and have the resources to get each task completed.
